THE PERFECT SCHOOL-
RUN COAT
WHAT
Stutterheim’s Stockholm raincoat
PRICE
£180
LIFETIME COST
Over the next year September to June, approximately nine months, £20 per month.
WHY
I have a wardrobe choking in coats but when my eldest daughter started school not a single one seemed right. I needed a coat with a hood, that I could pull on in a second that would look good, keep me warm, dry and be wipe-clean when my youngest decided to smear yoghurty fingers down the front. So I wasn’t asking for much. The news that anoraks were the It-coat of the season according to Vogue was welcome, but which one to choose? Step forward Swedish brand Stutterheim and its handworked rubber raincoats. It has just the understated stylish practicality I was looking for and I love that their philosophy is to embrace the rain.
GREAT FOR
School run, playdate, playground, weekend away.
LIKED BY
Anna Murphy, fashion director of The Times says:
“You’ve got to love the Swedes. I can’t imagine a more functional item than a Stutterheim, yet it is also indubitably cool. Yes, to my mind it definitely merits proper-noun status.”
